NECROMANTIC ART

Hell-O to all the extreme metal fans worldwide! At last, after several successes (and failures too...), the first issue of NECROMANTIC ART magazine is reality. So what, you might say: just another metal magazine trying to get money out from our pockets. But we stand here and say (even shout!): NO!!! It’s not just another metal magazine, but THE metal magazine, which wants to become the best extreme metal magazine from Romania (and not only!). There were many sacrifices made (firstly financial, but also of other nature), but here we are, in front of a reality that cannot be ignored. So, our dear readers please analyse carefully the content of this issue and tell us if we are wrong.

First of all, you need to know that all the interviews were made from the heart, as we all love this music so much! They do not and will not feature stupid questions like: ” What beer do you drink?” or “What did you do yesterday?” but only musical questions. This is a metal music magazine and not a cheap scandal newspaper. Nor will you read in NECROMANTIC ART interviews articles on archaeology, philosophy, poetry, history or so, as this is (again!) a metal music magazine and not a history book, or a poetry manual.

Another aspect worth mentioning concerns the reviews as well as the classic reviews. We review the latest discographic releases solely by our musical tastes and conceptions. Therefore, they shouldn’t be taken as absolute truths or so. It’s just our opinion and they are already very objective. The criteria on what we mark the bands’ albums are: the bands’ originality, the style performed, the complexity of their music and of course, our tastes and NOT their impact, their sales or the bands’ name. We decided not to consider the production of the albums when reviewing it. DO NOT expect to read in NECROMANTIC ART magazine interviews with NU-metal bands, alternative, hardcore, power / progressive, ambient or other commercial stuff. We will only promote true extreme metal underground and the good quality music, so to help you to understand good quality music.

We want to destroy everything that has been inoculated to you as “true metal” or “real underground” metal. We want you to be selective when you listen to a band and not to judge it by these false criteria that have been imposed to you throughout the years. We’ll also promote the legends of metal and implicitly, the extreme metal legendary names, as they are very ignored in Romania. Speaking about the interviews, we decided not to correct the eventual grammar mispellings of the quizzed musicians, excepting the gravest ones.

On the other hand, we have decided not to publish the contact addresses of the bands or the quizzed musicians’. We have not been neither allowed, nor forbidden to publish them, so we think it’s better this way. If you want to know more about one particular band, it’s very easy nowadays to do it. On the other hand, you’d better buy their records or visit their labels’ homepages in order to know more about them. This way it’s the best one to support real underground. Another aspect we’d like to mention is related to the CDs reviewed. We have to say that 90% of the music reviewed is BOUGHT (!!!), and sometimes on incredible prices. That’s why we have reviewed also some older albums. In the future, we will review only the albums we get from the labels. DO NOT expect (or even try-think of) from us to sell the promotional stuff we get from the labels (although it is a common practice in Romania...). On these CDs there is mentioned on purpose: ”FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY. NOT FOR SALE!” so “FUCK OFF!” to all those who think that we’ll compromise ourselves into the eyes of the labels that have already been cheated too much by some weird individuals from our country which have been selling their promotional stuff for years. We are set out to wage a war against these individuals and we will win it!

So, our dear readers, please analyse carefully and objectively the material in this issue (we have worked a lot to realize it) and send us your comments and opinions. There has always been room for better, and we aim on that too. So, without your help, everything is meaningless!

Do not expect a second issue very soon (we have not proposed a periodicity of this magazine), because we want to be better than this first one, featuring better and more interviews, reviews and all the other stuff!
These said, we wish you a nice reading and we are waiting for your reactions, but, once again, please analyse this work twice before you swear at us!

See you soon!
